RunZone ("RunZone," "we," "us") is a running and training app operated by Run Zone. This policy explains what information the app uses, why, and your choices. If you have questions, contact us at [email protected].

Summary

Information we collect and how we use it

Information you enter. During onboarding and in the app you provide details like your first name, age, sex, height, weight, running experience, goals, schedule, and daily check-ins. We use this to calculate your heart rate zones, build your training plan, and estimate your Run Age. It is stored on your device.

Apple Health data. With your permission, RunZone reads data from Apple Health such as heart rate, resting heart rate, running workouts, distance, routes, VO2 max, height, and weight. With your permission, RunZone also writes workouts you record in the app back to Apple Health. We use this data only to provide app features like tracking runs, time in each heart rate zone, progress charts, and Run Age. Health data is stored on your device and is never sold, used for advertising, or shared with third parties for marketing. You can change these permissions anytime in the iPhone Settings app under Health.

Location data. When you record a run, RunZone uses your device's GPS to measure distance, pace, and your route, including in the background while a run is active. Location is not collected when you are not recording a run. Routes are stored on your device and, if you allow it, saved to Apple Health.

Bluetooth. If you connect a heart rate monitor, RunZone uses Bluetooth to receive heart rate readings during your run. We remember the paired device on your phone so it reconnects automatically.

AI features. When you use the meal scanner, Form Check, or AI Coach, the photo, video, or message you choose to submit is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI (through our app platform's AI service) to generate the result. When you use the AI Coach, your training data (such as runs, heart rate zones, and goals) is also sent so answers can be personalized. We ask for your permission before any data is sent to AI, and you can turn AI features off anytime in Profile > Settings. This data is not used for advertising.

Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase information (such as which plan you bought and when) so we can unlock premium features and let you restore purchases. We never receive your payment card details. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

iCloud. RunZone may store a small amount of app settings in your private iCloud storage (for example, whether you've already seen a one-time offer) so they persist if you reinstall the app. This is tied to your Apple ID and is not accessible to us.

Leaderboard and reports. If you sign in with Apple and join the weekly leaderboard, your display name (first name and last initial), rank, and weekly XP are visible to other RunZone users. If you report another runner, the report (the reported display name, the reason, and the time) is stored on our server so we can review it. You can block other runners at any time.

Notifications. If you allow notifications, RunZone schedules reminders on your device, such as run-day reminders and weekly recaps. You can turn these off anytime in the app or in iPhone Settings.
